What Feminist Critique of Objectification in the Fashion Industry Must Not Overlook: Indore ALC 2026

Description On January 10, at end of Day 2 of Indore Animal Liberation Conference 2026, a team of animal rights activists went to Vijay Nagar to speak up for the animals oppressed and exploited in the fashion industry. This is most of what I spoke during the demonstration. While fashion industry has long list of problems from exploiting women, causing environmental destruction, capitalists extracting as much labour from the workers for as cheap as possible, relying on sweatshops in the global south, and failing to meet animal welfare standards, it is important to know that it isn't the brutal ways that the animals are treated by the fashion industry but the fact that they are oppressed, and we have to topple this industry too, for the goal of animal liberation.
